After a couple of years of using Google Reader's shared items feature to pass on news about human milk, I'm back to Blogger. Over the years you will have noticed the focus has narrowed - I used to share news about all things breastfeeding, how I share news about all things human milk. What's the difference? It allows me to focus on milk banking, milksharing, and research using human milk.

Australia - breastmilk used to treat girl with tumour

The Sunshine Coast daily is reporting a case of a "gravely ill" 9 year old girl whose prognisis improved when she received human milk. The girl's mother and friend, who is a midwife, rounded up breastmilk from donors and she received 500ml daily for six months. The girl, the mother, and the midwife are not identified in the article.

Foreign Policy's bloggers are intrigued by a Chinese entrepreneur's idea to market milk nannies. One woman, reported CNN, is being paid eight times what she would earn in a factory. Why does she have excess milk? She gave her own baby up fr adoption after violating China's one-baby-per-family policy.
